Turquazz and Hermitage River Projects (HRP); are presenting a very special concert in a unique venue. Vocalist Sibel Demir will be joined by oud artist Muzaffer Uslu as they bring the soul of the Bosphorus to the heart of the Thames. The concert will take place in a refurbished Dutch boatTwee Gezusters built-in 1904, immersed in the unique surroundings of Hermitage Community Moorings in London which oversees the iconic Tower Bridge.

Twee Gezusters (Two Sisters) was built in 1904 at the Van Aller yard in Hasselt, Holland.
Originally built as a single mast sailing barge of 26m she was lengthened in 1938 and an additional mizzen mast was added. Registered for most of her working life in Zwolle, she traded under sail until 1948 when she was finally de-rigged and a Deutz engine and wheelhouse were added. She continued to work as a general cargo barge until 1972. In 1997 she was purchased from a yard in Harlingen in a state of dereliction and was restored for cruising and residential use. In 2006 she returned to Holland to have her original sailing rig re-instated and she is now based in London as a family home and cruising sail barge.

Disclaimer
Twee Gezusters is moored on the north bank of the River Thames. You must follow the instructions of the concert hosts at all times. The vessel will move gently as the river tide ebbs and flows, and sometimes less gently when other river traffic passes by. Entrance to the moorings is via a fixed pedestrian footbridge from the shore. Entrance to the boat is by stepping across from pontoon to deck. You will be required to stay within the boat when on board. If you would like to get off the boat (the toilets are in the main pierhouse) you will be escorted off and back onto the boat by your concert hosts. All guests should wear appropriate footwear (i.e. no stilettos please). There are two entrances/exits, one at each end of the vessel, should evacuation be necessary.
